Think Saint Patrick's Day! My great-grandmother brought this family recipe over from Ireland in the 1800's. It is an easy to make (no yeast) Irish recipe and delicious. Also including variations to make it as a traditional tea bread.
I have made this using this recipe since I was kid and everyone loves it! Be sure to check out my great-grandmother's Irish Whiskey Cake, which I've also listed. It makes the best Irish Whiskey Cake you've ever tasted! My family has enjoyed these recipes for generations and I make them now with my grandchildren. These are family recipes that has been handed down and have not been published. I really should write a cookbook using these old family recipes, which have been handed down from generation to generation, but in the meantime I will be putting them on Listia.
