This is from WWII Military Army Air Forces Pin, Worn From Mid 1942 - November 4 1945. It Has A Large Bird Carrying A Paratrooper Holding A Tommy Gun, That Represents The Command's Mission To Deliver Quickly The Soldiers Into Battle. The Design Is Based On The Approved Aircraft Markings And Distinctive Insignia, It Has The Latin Motto "Vincit qui Primum Gerit " On A Banner Across The Bottom, Which Means He Conquers Who Gets There First.
Wow, that is awesome CAROLYNVOILES, This is a part of history, makes me wonder who pin it was and did they live here in Virginia or just passing through? Thank you so much for telling me this, it is amazing! If no one bids on it, then it will be just fine for it to hang around. Thanks again, you are so knowledgeable, and I love the way you have helped me put more information into my auctions!
You are very welcome you could always research who owned your home during that time. A lot of family buried their loved ones things if they passed as respect to them. Hope that helps and yes very cool to keep around :)
