You could plug it in, but I honestly don't know if it would work with a ps3.

It should. I was able to play resident evil 4 and 5 with it, as well as all my emulators.

There's a program called xpadder that's let's configure your USB controller, works with any USB controller. My son has the same pad as you have listed he uses it to play minecraft online, this is a great game pad.
