The listing, Giant Double Red Poppy - approx. 50 seeds #2 has ended.
These are extra seeds from a trade I made - I have no room for all of these - and am going off the information provided by the lady I traded with and what I found on the internet. These are the Giant Red Poppy - called Papaver somniferum - or some people call them Peony Poppies. The packet has approximately 50 seeds - or roughly 1/16th of a teaspoon full. This is the information I got off the web about them:
"NAME: Giant Double Red Peony Poppy
SCIENTIFIC NAME: Papaver Somniferum
COLOR: Fringed double scarlet 4 - 5" flowers
PLANT SEEDS: Outdoors after frost / Indoors weeks before last frost
BLOOM TIME: Mid Summer
HARDINESS ZONE: N/A (but reseeds itself easily, so it acts like a perennial in all zones)
PLANT HEIGHT: 24 - 36"
PLANT SPACING: 9 - 15"
LIGHT REQUIREMENTS: Sun
SOIL & WATER PREFERENCES: Average
QUANTITY: 50 Seeds
OTHER: Peony Poppies have huge double 4-5” blooms! Poppies attract bees, butterflies, and birds. The huge showy blooms make them an excellent cut flower, and their unique looking seed pods are splendid in dried arrangements or for crafts. They are known in folk medicine as a mild sedative and analgesic."
