the 4170 stands for 41.7 %. This means percentage of gold which works out to 10kt gold. . 14kt gold is 58.5%. 18 karat is 75% and of course 24kt is 100%! If you do the math, 10kt is 41.66% but it is a ring and plumb so would be my reason for a teeny bit more gold then 10kt.. ITS REAL GOLD!!!
