The listing, 1982 Circus World Western Stampede POSTCARD Orlando Florida has ended.
Postcard is in excellent condition, and harder to find! Graininess is from scanner and not on actual card.
Circus World Showcase was a building designed to look like a circus tent and included an IMAX movie theater. Opened in 1974. A 1000 seat arena featured daily circus performances that included live tiger, elephant, equestrian, trapeze and acrobatic acts, as well as clowns and a live band. The Showcase part was eventually dropped, making the park "Circus World". Other live shows were added including a Wild West rodeo that performed daily in a customized outdoor rodeo arena.
The project (which we attended twice and absolutely loved) eventually failed, because there was so little publicity. Sold in the 1980s, and is now a retail development called Posner Park.
Win four postcard auctions this week, and I'll include a 5th postcard (my choice) as a bonus!
