no USB cord. yes it works and takes pictures but they do not show up on the screen. The screen looks like an off air TV station. But when you put your SD card in the computer the pics show up. I used it on my vacation like that and the pics weren't bad at all for not being able to see the first hand. I figure someone can fix it, use it for parts or use it like it is.
