Description

The listing, Hey DOORS Fans!! AUTOGRAPHED Record!!! READ! has ended.

Up for bid is an AUTHENTIC SIGNED Record JACKET! Unfortunately, when these autographs were obtained, Jim Morrison was no longer with us. The jacket is signed by the keyboardist Ray Manzarek, and guitarist, Robby Krieger. The drummer, John Densmore, did not sign this either.

Here is the weird part. There IS a Doors vintage record inside dated 1971. But its not The Doors like the jacket says. Instead its Other Voices. The record itself is in good condition. There are fines scratches. I can't test it because I no longer have a working record player. It did work the last time I listened to it. The pics show the songs. Please note the damage to the jacket from age and use!!!

So, HOW on earth did I get this? My parents saw a performance of The Doors of the 21st Century and met Manzarek & Krieger - well, the signed the cover as they were leaving (Tower Theater in Upper Darby, PA in '03).

My mom has been cleaning house recently and came across this again she said I could list it. Its been sitting in a pile of records for 5 years (when the player died) and thought someone else would enjoy it more.

So, BID, WIN and ENJOY!!

Any questions, ask and I'll do my best to answer!

Great Auction and here's my story. I rode up on an elevator in Vegas with ELVIS and the Sweet Inspirations. He was shirtless and so handsome. I got his autograph and several items of memorabilia. I never even thought it would be worth money one day. I met the late Robert Goulet, Glen Campbell we stayed at one of his summer homes. I met lots of groups Earth, Wind & Fire, War, Chilites-I dated one. Oh I met Sly of the Family Stones, Ohio Players my sister, friends and I use to go back stage. And the after parties were awesome. One night my older sister went knocking on every door in the hotel just to get me out of a room. I did not know anything about groupies and the guys never tried anything maybe because my brother was in the suite. I have many pictures I took back in the early 70's man those were the good ole days. The best part is when the singers pull me up on stage, I can't describe the feeling. I've met Master P, ,Lil Wayne and was in Vegas the night Tupac was shot. I loved him so much and have every song. But when you're with the stars or singers you don't feel like they are better or morespecial than you because they are so nice and want you to have a good time. I remember one calling me and I was shocked. He said, "I'm in Chicago at the Ohara airport and was thinling about you, and couldn't wait to come by my place." My sister dated Howard Hewett and he comes by when he's in town. That's enough,

No I have a good memory, but I won't know for sure until late March, it would be a general admission ticket, plus it seems to be the custom for U2 fans to buy someone else a ticket, someone did it for me for Atlanta, plus it's only 283 days away, time is gonna fly! lol

You are too sweet & awesome for words! Well, my memory stinks, so IF you have an extra ticket come Mar. or Apr. please remind me! Lol! But, if I'm working by then (please, fingers crossed!) you have to promise to let me pay for SOMETHING. I don't care if it's the ticket, a drink or two, food, whatever. OR you could list it on listia & make a ton of credits! You know I'd be bidding! Lol!

I'm sorry, I am also unemployed too and not getting unemployment cause I was a nanny working under the table. But I will know late in March if we have a extra ticket and you're more then welcome to it, so keep in touch. I find seeing U2 live is always like the first time.

I'm sorry about your situation, too. it really REALLY sucks to be living paycheck to paycheck WITH a job and then all of a sudden have no income. My stomach is in constant knots about finances. That would be AWESOME! But I will completely understand if you don't get an extra one or if you forget. It IS after all, almost half a year away! lol! :o)

I'm a pretty huge fan myself, after that I went and got a small U2 tattoo on the back of my neck. You know I always heard that Bono is friendly like that to his fans, in Ireland he has been known to take fans to the pub him and The Edge own for drinks. Now I am just waiting for them to get here, hurry up July! Have you seen any of the 360 tours yet?Last October I seen them in Atlanta

I would LOVE to go butcant afford tickets. :0(
Not only was I laid off because of an injury, but my job contested my unemployment and WON even though there reason was I quit my job by not showing up to work on a SUNDAY. I worked at a school - we ONLY work Mon. - Fri.!!! I haven't gotten an unemployment check in 2 months now & the state wants me to pay them back what I received! It's total BS. I've hired a lawyer for the appeal but it could be another month for the hearing which means another month without a check. Concerts, or ANY uneccesary spending is no where in my unforeseeable future. :0(

Very nice auction! I met Bono outside of the 4 seasons in Philadelphia when he was here to receive the Liberty Medal, there I was with 2 friends and we started screaming BONO, don't you know he walked right up to us and started talking, I was in shock, here I was face to face with someone as incredible as Bono ( well to me he is), anyways after being in a trace he did sign my copy of the Metro and I really did have to pinch myself after to make sure I wasn't dreaming lol

I am sooooo jealous! I am a big fan of most of them but am curious....how are Witherspoon and Barrymore? Nice, mean, etc.? Other celebs I have met include Antonio Sabato, Jr (too), Dane Cook, Sugar Ray, and Ian Green that I can think of off the top of my head. I know there are a couple more but I honestly can't remember, either. I've met these people at car shows, books signings, and concerts usually from winning a contest meet and greet. :o)

Are we only talking about musicians or... well, i met ice cube. my boyfriend at the time was a wannabe rapper and i was trying to be a model/actress as i am from l.a.. i was doing a lot of what they call in the biz "crap work", like filling audience seats for shows, being extras in all types of films and t.v. shows, dancing on soul train, etc. so i was placed in the front row of a show on b.e.t. and the guest was ice cube. my boyfriend would make demo c.d.'s and ask me to give them to musicians, if i could. as the show was taping they would break for a commercial and i got ice cubes attention. the security told me to leave him alone but he called me over and talked with me on stage for the whole break and in front of everyone. i was able to give him the demo c.d. he was so nice and not all like the gangster he portrayed in n.w.a.

I met the Doors in the Portlnad Airport when I was 12. Ray refused to sign an autograph until we got the autograph of The Lizard King, who was standing nearby. Yes, my sister and I had all four autographs, but a year later, when we moved in with my dad, she tossed all out stuff...which included lots of valuaable, including these, The Turtles, the Beach Boys (including the late Dennis Wilson). This item would be a great gift for my sister, especially framed. Thank you for listing and for being a contributing Listia Community Member.

Oh, to have been able to be around in the 60's! sigh. Unfortunately, I was born in 76 so missed out on the chance to hear the Doors, The Beatles (together), and many more live. And YOU got to MEET the original, whole band! I am uber jealous! lol! Thank you for your kind words and its a pleasure to bring these items here. In my opinion, they are worth more here than anywhere else. Most people on the $ sites want the best stuff for the cheapest possible. Here, you get your credits worth because its a lot easier to make credits on Listia than it is to make $ in the real world these days. So after making me jealous with your story, I have one for you:

When my mom was a teenager, she was offered a job - to sing backup for the Temptations on their US tour (have to ask her which one). My grandparents told her school was more important and she was forced to decline. I'm sorta glad she did, though, because I probably wouldn't be on this earth if she had taken it. She met my dad shortly AFTER this had happened. :o)

I'm sorry for you (and everyone else who loves great music and bands) that those precious memories and pieces of history ended up in the trash! Hopefully, a trash picker found them and saved them from a landfill. I wish my album was in better condition for you, though. But I'm glad it would go to someone who would really enjoy it! That's the whole point of this site for me!

Thanks for visiting my auction! Fanning you! You have some pretty nice auctions yourself that I'll be checking out! And sorry this was so long. :o)

Reading through these comments is quite entertaining I must say. I have a david copperfield 83 or 84 I can't remember right off hand the year anyhow it is a david copperfield program with his signature on it. I found it in some boxes about a month ago and have been debating on listing it on listia ever since as I had completely forgot about it till them. It was my grandmas and I was given it when she died. I know it would be worth more if I waited till he died lol but I am afraid my kids will ruin it as it is in pretty good condition as of right now for it's age.

Hey, hon! Thanks for sharing that! If you want to wait....he's relatively young so you may have to wait a while, the best thing to do would be to buy a matted frame (make sure its ACID FREE) and mount it in there. That way, you could hang it up to actually be seen (lol!) and it stays out of your kids way. Just put it in a darker area of the house like a hallway. Sunlight could fade it.

I Just have a Question Plz,........Im a little confused as to whos on the Album,....Is it the Doors, or No? I do have a quick story too,.. Soon after KISS came out I went to see them and ended up meeting my Favorite Kiss member after the show(Ace Frehley) where he gave me his Stage towel with his make up all over it!!! I was in Heaven!!!! Well, Came home from school one day, noticed the towel wasnt in its usual spot, and turns out, My Mom did the Laundry, thought it was just another dirty towel in my room, and Washed it!!! AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!

Nooooooo! That's awesome and awful at the same time! I'm so sorry, but I bet it taught you to put things away, huh? I guess the usual spot wasn't put away for your mom, that is. Thanks for sharing.

Sorry, I know its confusing. Yes, Two members of The Doors have signed the album COVER. Those two members later formed their own "spin-off" band, The Doors of the 21st Century, but they were still founding members of the Doors of the 1960's. Did that answer you're question? If not, let me know and I'll try again! :o)

Seriously...wasn't too cool when it happened, but two or three days later, I told everyone I ran into. :o) My best friend was with me so I was lucky enough to have a witness as well as the bruise to prove it. Have you seen her recently??!!?? She looks like a model and very polished (on TMZ). I hope she keeps doing whatever she is doing because its definitely working for her. I miss him and the music, too. Anyone looking to put up a copy of Nevermind, let me know. My copy is finally skipping. :o(

Thats all too true. A huge example is kurt cobain. SUCh a good musician. courtney love was a bad descision on his part though.
adding to that, if anypne major signed anything, its straight to ebay

DEFINITELY! I was crushed the day I found out Cobain was dead. I thought it was a sick joke. Heres a another true story for you -

Lollapalooza 1994 Philadelphia - Courtney Love performed after the Smashing Pumpkins on the side stage. I was AT the stage and she, wearing stilettos STEPPED ON MY HAND. It was excruciating and she didn't even flinch. I didn't expect her to apologize but still at least look at the person apologetically, right? Ah well, this was her bad gal days and she WAS grieving at the time. It was summer 1994 the summer after my senior year. It was the BEST concert I ever went to.

I agree. There are so many people in history who died way before their time. Ahhh if only back to the future time machines were possible! lol! :o)

At least HALF of the original band signed it and the ENTIRE Doors of the 21st Century. But, yes, it would have been awesome if they had met Jim as well - but then, this wouldn't be here if it was signed by him:

(From Widi Answers):
' Albums signed by Morrison and the rest of the Doors are extremely rare and can bring up to $10,000'. :oO
