From the Oaxacan region of Mexico, famous for its folk art and undisturbed native population. These beautifully pleated, clear pink, flat-round fruits have marbled, juicy flesh with sweet flavor. This tomato was fairly early and seemed to be particularly disease resistant.
Rare variety seldom seen outside of Mexico.
-(10) Thessaloniki Tomato RARE, heirloom
Thessaloniki is the second-largest city in Greece and the capital of the Greek region of Macedonia. Once the capital of the Byzantine Empire. Thessaloniki Tomato was developed in 1957 by the Ministry of Agriculture Farm in Greece.
Solid, meaty flesh. High yields and disease resistant. An early variety perfect for home or market; keeps well. Resistant to sunburn, cracks and spots, Thessaloniki's fruits last a long time on the vine when ripe. Thessaloniki is famous for producing practically uniform, deep globular size fruits the size of a baseball. Highly crack resistant.
Amazing colors as it turns from sunset hues to a deep red. The flesh is mild and rich in flavor.
Bonus!
These are not at rare as the other 2 varieties, but they are delicious! You will also get:
-(10) Sweet 100 Tomato
Produces incredibly tasty fruit. Some aficionados are so enamored with the taste that they call Sweet 100s “vine candy” and eat cherries straight off the plant. The delectable tomatoes often used for snacking and salads but are suitable for cooking, freezing, and even pickling, too.
