Description

The listing, Real Coyote Lower Jaw Bone W/ Teeth has ended.

This a real lower jaw bone, with teath attached, of an adult coyote. I use the skulls for my art work, but have the lower jaw bones left over some times for other works, and this one is an extra, I hate to waste and maybe another artist out there can use it too.

I use parts of animals for my artwork that hunters otherwise waste, so keep an eye out for future items like this one.

I am not a member of PETA nor a vegan, but this listing makes me very sad.... and little makes me sad. There was a lone coyote caught (photographed) crossing one of Portland's bridges a few years back..... and I believe the same thing happened in New York. They can get disoriented... and wonder into "civilization." and, alas, they rarely survive the curious and fearful. I am an artist, as well, but I'm not sure I could work with this type of material. I do appreciate your POV and imagine your own art is quite profound and thought-provoking. Thank you for offering it. I wish you the very best in re-homing.

actually, I am a member of both the ASPCA and the Humans Society, I rescue animals and reabilitate them. I have trained as a vet tech and assure you I use the remains of animals that hunters waste. Before you judge people you should first get both sides of the story.
I am not crule, I am actually honoring the animal in my Native American Art, by using the entire animal which is found or wasted by hunters during hunting season. The Coyote is my Spirit animal and I do not condone the killing of the animal, but I can not stop hunters, but I can honor them with my art and honor their spirit by not allowing the waste of their bodies just for fur.

CoyoteSun76, I got your personal message and wanted to address it here as I think it will benefit the entire community. As you are new here, I hope it will help make your transition and adaptation to this new site easier. To me the most wonderful thing about Listia is the diversity of people and opinions. As a writer, stories are my life's blood. As a Native American, I have a whole-hearted appreciation for traditional hunting/fishing, as an ecologist I regret my own humanity, sometimes. I encourage other points of view, and when I reread the post that you indicated was judgmental, I was puzzled, as I don't see where I was "judging" you. I see a statement that indicated that it disturbed ME, but at the same time I indicated that I appreciated your Point of View and I could imagine your art to be "quite profound and thought-provoking". How is this a judgement of you? I DO wish you the best on your auctions and in re-homing this piece. I also hope that you will be open to all comers, all members in the Listia Community with questions and comments...... This makes a good auction so much more interesting to follow.

don't worry about it, was dealing with animal hording issue in town hear, and medical issue. I too am a writer and probably jumped right down your throaght after not reading completely through your post.
Funny thing, you and I are both writers, I spent six years writing for the military before being medically discharged and before that I was a creative writer. I am actually about to go to my shop right now and wish I had more time to write this completely. I do appologize, and wish the best, maybe we can write again later.
