Questions & Comments
I wouldn't try it. No disprespect to the seller here, but unless he has proof that he/she has gotten it checked my a professional, don't trust it. My first flute was gotten in a manner similar to this, and a situation very much the same, gently used, then put into storage. As a flute or other padded instrument is left in storage, a bacteria collects on it that deteriorates the state of the pads, thus making them 'leak.' When I got my flute, it played fine for a few weeks, and then I started to get an airy tone, then it would not play at all after a while. It created a whole world of trouble for me and my music. If anyone gets this flute, has it now, or if the seller has not currently given it away yet, I suggest it gets checked out before it is given away.
I just bought one for my son and if it needs pads not such a big deal 150 and the flute will be ready to play. It is far better than paying 800 for a used one later. Pads are not made to last forever and need to be changed every so many years. You are making a great buy.
FYI - cleaning rods have been exchanged for cleaning rods that are soft to not only clean but keep the flute dry and will not scratch or damage the inside. These can be purchased at any music store for under 10 dollars. Wonderful!
HI just a comment.. As with any instrument, padded or otherwise,...Upkeep and repair come with the privelage of having it. I have also just recently bid, won, and been disappointed by no flute showing up- you can see the transaction feedback in my feedback. I now have a promise to uphold to my niece- who even though doesnt have the flute i thought i had won for her, she has not lost faith in me following through. All things happen for a good reason and i am ever optimistic. I hope to win this flute and understand full well the responsibility of caring for one. This is an awesome offering here on listia, and for everyone reading this...just remember not to let ONE rotten apple ruin the possibility of home baked apple pie tomorrow night, or something like that. lol. I hope this auction gets you alot of credits my friend...I will be all in and saving, listing, and hoping I win this. thanks
