These beautiful blue seal $1 bills were regularly circulated until the early 1960's. Until 1965 you could take them to a bank and receive in exchange One Real US Silver Dollar Coin... That was abolished in 1965 and these bills quickly became collectible and sought after as they disappeared from circulation.

A NOTE ABOUT 1935d $1 Silver Certificates: There are two variations of the 1935d series... the older Wide Margin and the newer Narrow Margin. The margin variation can be identified by looking at the back plate #... BP#'s 5015 and lower are the Wide Margin variation. BP#'s 5017 and newer are the Narrow Margin variation. There was never a 5016 BP#...
