Description

The listing, Pythagorean Tarot Cards has ended.

Pythagoras was a Greek mystic and philosopher of the sixth century B.C.E. He founded an initiatory society based on the study of esoteric mathematics and music. John Opsopaus likes to think of his Pythagorean Tarot as the tarot deck Pythagoras would have made. With extensive scholarship and research, Opsopaus combines the traditions of alchemy and Greek esoteric philosophy with tarot symbolism to create this unique deck. The major arcana cards show the image with the name in Greek and English and a corresponding Greek letter. The numbering is unconventional and follows the "Ferrarese order" - the earliest numbered sequence of the trumps. The minor arcana cards show suit symbols with three elemental glyphs at the top. Tens are the aces completed and taken to a higher order (see below). The court cards are Greek gods and goddesses. In the companion book Guide to the Pythagorean Tarot, Opsopaus offers a complete overview of his tarot system with detailed commentary about the symbolism and esoteric background of each card. The artist is RHO.

Just the cards no book. Cards in excellent shape.
