Description

The listing, 1969 Topps baseball card lot w/ high numbers has ended.

Here's a lot of eight (8) vintage 1969 Topps baseball cards (NOT reprints). These are all in very nice condition: no creases I see or other major flaws, and most of the corners look great, though a few corners have wear, and some cards have bad centering. But then again, these cards are 44 years old. Neat bit of history.

Also note that most of these are high numbers from the later series, which are generally more scarce than the rest of the set.

Expos Rookie Stars JOSE LaBOY & FLOYD WICKER. Coco LaBoy was runner-up to Ted Sizemore for '69 NL ROY. #524

Pirates Rookie Stars ELVIO JIMENEZ & JIM SHELLENBACK. Jiménez had some nice years in the minors and the Dominican League, but his only MLB game was in '64 with the Yankees. Shellenback pitched for 9 years, mostly with the Senators. #567

FRED WHITFIELD (1B, Reds) made the Topps All-Star Rookie Team in 1962 and would go on to hit 20+ homers 3 times, even getting some MVP votes in '65. This is his final card. #518

JOSE ARCIA (2B, Padres) was a fielding star for the San Diego Padres in their first couple years of existence. #473

TURK FARRELL (P, Phillies) was an All-Star 4 times in his 14 year MLB career. This is his final card. #531

FRANK BERTAINA (P, Senators) pitched 7 years and was a member of the 1966 champion Orioles team. #554

Phillies Rookie Stars RON STONE & BILL WILSON. Both of these guys put in 5 years in the bigs. #576

Astros Rookie Stars DON BRYANT & STEVE SHEA. Neither stuck around very long. Bryant coached with the Red Sox a bit. #499
