My wife says it's medium to loud - and annoying. I don't think its that loud, but I ran machinery for 30 years, so she's probably more qualified to say.

I bought one that looked just like this one..had it for many yrs..was thinking the other day about it..wondering what happened to it..lol I don't remember where I got it from, but it was bought new in late 80's or early 90's. Does the handle unscrew from the bell? Mine did

Yes, I think it would. The lower end of the handle is threaded. However, this one is stuck solid right now.

That's how you know older ones. It was ti make replacing the clapper easier.
