There have been 3 different types of sets of coins made thru the years !!! in 1936 they started making proof sets and have made them up to the present except for 1965,66, and 67 and in 1947 they started making uncirculated mint sets and continue up to the present except for 1965,66, and 67 !!! in 1965,66, and 67 they made special mint sets or sms, for those 3 years the sms didn't go over very well with the public or collectors !! and i am typing this right from the red book= the popularity of coin collecting had dropped from it's peak in 1964.also, collectors did not anticipate making any profit from the sms which had an issue price of $4.00, compared to $2.10 for a 1964 proof set. as a result very few of the sms were bought especially the 1967's making the 1967 special mint set worth far more than the 65 or 66 sets because very few were bought !! but right here i have the 1967 sms up for bids it has the 40% silver kennedy half dollar in it which has .14792 ounce of silver !!! i guess i will ship this one out for free, giving the winner a break !! have you ever even seen one of these sms ?? i haven't here on listia until now !!! good luck !!!
