The Brandywine is one of the oldest heirlooms and among the most popular. Freshly sliced out of the garden, Brandywine's classic, tomatoey flavor is truly hard to beat. The pink red fruits commonly weigh over a pound and are relatively late-maturing. These plants tend to grow quite tall and gangly. Hence, the plants need good support and should be pinched or pruned for best results. This is the traditional potato leaf variety.
