Questions & Comments
It shouldn't cost that much to ship four skeins even adding insurance. Have you checked that out with the USPS? They can be put in a large manilla envelope and save on shipping. I'm not being rude I'm just letting you know because I have shipped 5 skeins before an they were much bigger than yours. :)
You are welcome. I'm just glad you didn't take it the wrong way! Five skeins and insured for $10 so it would have a tracking number costed $6.75. Now I'm not sure if that changes depending on how far it is shipped or not but, I'll bet it does. What I would suggest is the next time you have something like this to auction, get it together and put it in a box or a big manilla envelope. Take it to the post office and ask them to tell you what it will cost to ship it. They will estimate it for you and usually write it on the envelope or box depending on what you decide to ship it in. Then you can decide how much you have to have to ship it to the winner. It usually works best when it's over $5 to offer to split it with the buyer. That way you both get a good deal: you win credits and they win whatever you are auctioning and split the shipping. Do you think that is fair? :)
I haven't seen a change in the shipping cost. Have you tried my suggestions to see how much you can reduce it to? I'm on a fixed income and need to know how much I will have to pay should I win. Thanks.
