These are great for projects. I've made mosaic table tops, made some shelves, would use them for bathroom tile repair if I had to.

They are beachcombed from a local beach & rinsed. When I've done the projects, I don't bother fully cleaning them, as after the grout is put on, I lightly scrub the surface with a no-soap brillo-type pad to even out the grout & get a nice scuffed / stressed finish. This process also cleans them well. Finish with tile sealant.
