Description

The listing, 1969 Topps baseball card lot w/ Hendricks RC has ended.

Here's a lot of eight (8) vintage 1969 Topps baseball cards (NOT reprints). These are all in great condition. Clean fronts, clean backs, sharp corners. No creases or any major flaws I see. Hard to believe these are 44 years old! Some centering issues, but that's to be expected from old Topps cards, especially '69s.

ROD HENDRICKS (C, Orioles, a.k.a. Ellie or Elrod) played 12 years in the majors-- highlighted by batting .364 in the 1970 WS-- then spent 28 seasons as bullpen coach for Baltimore. This is his rookie card.

DAVE BOSWELL (P, Twins) led the AL in winning percentage in 1966. Won 20 in 1969, but his career fell off after he got in a bar fight with Billy Martin. Nice 1.35 career postseason ERA.

PAUL SCHAAL (2B-3B, Royals) made Topps All-Star Rookie Team in '65. Led AL in errors in '71 and '73.

BILL MONBOUQUETTE (P, Giants) was 3-time All-Star with Red Sox in early '60s, winning 20 in '63. Was teammate of both Ted Williams and Mickey Mantle. This is his final card.

DAVE BALDWIN (P, Senators) didn't do much in baseball, but later got a PhD in genetics and has a painting in the HOF in Cooperstown.

JIM RAY (P, Astros) played 9 years in the majors, mostly with Houston. His best year was 1971 when he went 10-4 with a 2.12 ERA.

KEN JOHNSON (P, Braves) is the only Major League pitcher to lose a nine-inning complete game no-hitter. Led the majors in best Strikeout/Walk ratio in 1962, just ahead of Koufax.

LARRY STAHL (OF, Padres) was a 4th outfielder for 10 years, also playing a few years with the Royals and Mets before finishing up with the '73 Reds.
