Description

The listing, HABANERO PEPPER SEEDS (20) has ended.

Definition: Habaneros are small, hot, chili peppers that are grown in Mexico and other parts of Latin America as well as in the U.S. Habanero peppers are short and squat with thin skin and are usually an orange or red color.

Because they are extremely hot, Habanero peppers are usually not eaten whole but are widely used in making salsas, sauces, salad dressings and as an ingredient in bottled hot sauce. Habaneros are sometimes mistaken for Scotch bonnet peppers, which they resemble and which are equally hot.

Habaneros have a slightly fruity flavor which can be enhanced by roasting the peppers. Roasting habaneros also mellows their heat somewhat.
Questions & Comments
Original
I boil them along with a little onion, and jalapeno. About 4 Jalepenos to 1 Habanero.
After they are cooked down, I add one piece of mashed, raw fresh garlic and a pinch of salt.
I blend that mixture. Usually, I make too much.
With what I know I won't use, I put into a zip lock sandwich bag and squash out all the air. At the same time, I squash it flat then freeze it.
I need some for eggs or whatever, I take out the frozen bag and break off however much I need.
It doesn't burn. It does make the top of my head sweat.
