My granddaughter would love this for school. That 12" measurement is just for the body of the bag, right? Is it plain on the other side, have any pouches or pockets? Fanned and watching.

Yes, it's just the body of the bag. The back is plain purple and there is one pocket inside the bag. When you raise the flap, there's a velcro tab that fastens to keep the bag securely closed. The cats are painted on the fabric and the bag is signed. Very sturdy too! Thanks for watching!

Not a problem. I'm at the computer anyway! LOL. It is fabric and very sturdy. It's as thick as denim is for sure.
