Refreshment Services Pepsi's Community Caps program returns to offer a refreshing way to support the community.
The program begins Feb. 1 and ends on April 30.
The program involves collecting yellow caps, with "Pepsi Community Caps 5 Cents" stamped on them, from 1-liter, 2-liter, 16-ounce and 24-ounce six-pack bottles and 20-ounce bottles of various Pepsi products including Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Mountain Dew and Dr. Pepper. For every cap an organization redeems, 5 cents will be paid back to the organization. Collection points are located at retailers through West-Central Illinois and Northeast Missouri.
The Community Caps program is a fun way for Refreshment Services Pepsi to help meet community needs by helping local organizations and schools raise funds. The program last year generated $15,249.40 for the community through 304,988 caps.
Refreshment Services Pepsi-Quincy partnered with StaRadio and KHQA on a media partnership "to provide the extra fuel behind this great program as we work to make 2013's program bigger and better," General Manager Chris Kirn said. "We want to support and help our community, above and beyond the normal course of business, in hopes to help make a difference in the lives of people every day."
Refreshment Services Pepsi-Quincy is a locally owned, family business with more than 100 employees that has served the Quincy, Macomb, Hannibal, Mo., and surrounding area for decades.
