the more expensive pearls have knots tie between each pearl in case the necklace breaks the pearls don't all fall off and get lost. you probably can't tell because of the gold spacers between each pearl.. So if you brought them yourself you know for sure they are freshwater pearls. That's what I wanted to know. Thank
