These are the black and white striped seeds that grow the biggest flowers. They will grow to six feet tall and have flowers 12 inches or more across. When ripened the yellow petals will shrivel and turn brown and fall off. Pick them before the birds get them! Each head will have hundreds of seeds. These are heirloom. Don't look for those strange colored sunflowers as they will most likely be hybrid and you can't get them to grow like that again. These are large seed and good for eating. I buy a loaf of 12 grain bread and one of them is sunflowers and they are easy to recognise and very tasty as well as good for your helth.
