Description

The listing, Watcher Auction! Hot Naughty Peter Peppers! Heirloom Seeds. Going for badges! has ended.

Going for my 60 watchers badge, please help out. I will do the same for you. Thank you. Let's make this a fun one!

Using stock photos since I recently moved and have to start my gardens from scratch. For some reason I never took pictures of these.
Peter Peppers are good for a laugh if nothing else. Some say they are 10x hotter than jalapenos, and then others say they are a medium-hot like Tabascos. I am sure it is a matter of how hot you think is hot.
There are many websites devoted to these little phallic peppers. Many people grow them as ornamentals. Same starting and care as any other pepper.
I have a very limited supply of these right now so auctions will be for 5 seeds.
Bids get above 2000 I will add Black Cherry Tomato seeds.
@ 3000, I will add some Indigo Rose Tomato seeds.
@ 4000, I will add some Garden Peach Tomato seeds.
@5000 I will add some Green Zebra Tomato Seeds
@6000 I will add some Yellow Bell Pepper Seeds
@7000 I will add some Red Bell Pepper seeds
@8000 I will add some Cilantro seeds
@9000 I will add some Orange/Yellow Banana Tomato Seeds
And if we get to 10,000 I will add in 5 more Hot Peter Pepper seeds. All this mixed together would make a beautiful fresh salsa!
All seeds are NON GMO! Most are heirloom and organic. Bell peppers are hybrids but organic.
This is meant to be a fun auction... hoping for lots of watchers and amusing commentary. Can't offend me. ;)

I first saw them when I was about 15, on a trip down south. Remembered them years later when I bought my farm and was starting my own garden. I asked my friend if their neighbor still grew them, and if they could get some seeds... I was sent 5 seeds. Still rolling them over from 20 years ago. lol

I have enough seeds left for one more auction. My plants have just started producing fruit, but are at the flower falling off stage, so it will be a while before I have a new supply of seeds.

Wow, 20 years from 5 little seeds. That is awesome! You must have a great green thumb. I have lived in the south for almost 7 years now and have never seen them. Then again, I'm sure that not everyone wants to brag about growing their own "peters" in the backyard. :)

I admit that sometimes it would be 5 years with no garden. Seeds still pop. Always keep my seeds in a dry box at room temp. Planted some tomatoes last year that were labeled 1993.. all came up. If you store seeds right they will usually be good for many, many years.

I love these old heirloom seeds! The first time I saw them was when I was a kid as well. I had to ask the sweet little elderly church lady what they were called.I can still hear her embarrassed giggles as she told me!A lot of people used to grow them but I have not seen them in years.Watching in case anyone drops off :)Wishing I had the credits to bid!

Once my plants start producing this year, I will put up plenty of these seeds. But that will be too late for this years garden for most people.

It's heat falls somewhere between the Jalapeno and the Cayenne, they are hot, but nothing like a Scotch Bonnet or Habanero. Like any hot pepper, you should be careful when handling them and not touch your face... or any other delicate bits, until you have washed your hands.

Btw what is the best way to store seeds?
Apr 19th, 2013 at 12:36:20 AM PDT by
Original
I just make sure my seeds are good and dry, put them in plastic bags with a bit of paper towel (just in case they were not 100% dry) and store them in a mouse proof box. Keep them dry and room temp. Now that I am in the tropics, and the humidity is much higher, I have added some zeolite to the bottom of the box.

Watcher #107! Such a great auction! Figures that these would have been started down south!! I'm in SC and have seen many that have too much time on their hands! Lol! Leave it to them to come up with little Peter peppers!! Lol! My kids would love these! I doubt I would have any left, they would be picking them and handing them out to their friends! I'll probably be called to the school where they don't have a very good sense of humor. Could you imagine the publicity on that one! The titles of the articles would be worth the whole ordeal!! Lol! I have a watchers auction going on also if you'd like to come by! Thanks for the fun! I will be watching til the end, may even bid! :)

Thank you. Yes, I can imagine. I have a nephew who would be right there with them. He would be telling every one all high high point of there anatomical correctness, with words that would get him suspended. lol
