Absolutely handmade and just lovely!The condition is really near perfect and with a little time and patience will block out to be about 2 of 3 inches bigger both directions.It's crocheted using a very tiny steel hook and boilfast cotton thread. I don't see any age discoloration only 1 potential spot which can be easily dealt with. You're probably right about Irish made-I,m a lifelong vintage/antique pattern collector and don't have this pattern,the closest I have to it is Swedish from 1942. My educated guess is that it was originally intended as a tea tray cover. Beautiful piece-times like these I'm sorry I'm downsizing-somebody will be getting a true beauty!
