The listing, Beaded Indian sun-catcher has ended.
This sun-catcher was beaded by a local Alaska native in Fairbanks, Alaska. I paid $35, picked the colors and he made it for me. It is really pretty and very well made. The beading and stitching in the leather is very tight and even. The beads are translucent blue and purple and opaque turquoise. It is about 3 inches in diameter and hangs a little longer than 8 inches.
A lot of people hang them from their car's rear view mirror and some people I worked with pinned them to their clothes. This one would look really pretty hanging in a window. I took a picture to show how the sun lights up the blue and purple beads.
The loop isn't actually long enough to go over a rear view mirror so I planned on getting some fishing line or clear beading cord to hang it up and never did. It has been in a bag and never really got used.
Thank you, I just love these colors. I saw a lady downtown in a shop was teaching beading on leather and I think I'm going to take some classes from her. I'll have to ask her if she could teach how to make something like this also. Fanned back.
