The eighth volume of music chain store Guitar Center's Fresh Cuts compilation series is an eclectic mix of metal, hard rock, emocore, indie-tinged emo, and soft-hearted alternative rock. The collection's 12 tracks start on the heavier side with blasts of sound from Coheed and Cambria, Deny Your Faith, and Young Suns, but get progressively less heavy, eventually seguing into emo rock from the Casket Lottery and rounding out the set with acoustic alternative fare from the Ross Sea Party and This Wild Life. ~ Fred Thomas
