What you would be bidding on is the Thursday, July 13, 2000 edition of the Humboldt Unioin from Humboldt, Kansas with the main article on the First Day issue of the postal stamp of Walter Johnson - baseball player born in Humboldt, KS. Also included is a black and white photo postcard of Walter Johnson in action. BOTH the newspaper and the back of the postcard were stamped with the First Day issue stamp by the US Postal Service. It reads "66748 Humboldt, KS - Walter Johnson Baseball Classic Station"
These are VERY RARE collectibles. At the time the US Post Office was stamping the First Day Envelopes with the affixed Walter Johnson stamp. I had run out of stamps at the time and asked the clerk to stamp my newspaper and the postcard which she did.
AGAIN you are NOT getting a stamp or the First Day stamped envelope - ONLY the cancellation stamped Newspaper and the postcard.
