The listing, 3 Old American Half Dollars 1912-D Barber 1939-D Walking Liberty 1960 Franklin has ended.
Picture 1 shows the obverses of the 3-Half Dollar lot.
Pictures 2 and 3 show the 1912-D Barber, which is 90% pure silver with a solid date and mint mark (the latter being on the reverse at the bottom). The coin grades as a solid Good because there is no LIBERTY appearing in the headband. Also, there are some rim bleeds on the reverse into where UNITED appears, as well as partial bleeds into HALF & STATES. About 2.3 million of these were minted, although there is no way to know how many are actually left after several significant silver meltdowns during the 20th century (for one perspective, visit http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=122279 ...
The 1939-D Liberty Walking (aka "Walker"), is also 90% pure silver and has a clear date and a clear mint mark (on the reverse to the left about 1/2" down below E PLURIBUS UNUM). The coin grades VG because the motto IN GOD WE TRUST is distinct (on the reverse), and about half of the skirt lines on the left are clear (on the obverse). The rim is in very good shape and does not bleed into any of the legends (LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, E PLURIBUS UNUM, etc.). About 4.3 million of these were minted, but again, there is no telling how many are left.
The 1960 Franklin is also 90% pure silver, with a strong date. The rims are excellent with no rim bleeds, and all legends are easily readable. The coin grades Fine, but does not meet the VF standard that requires that half of the upper and lower incused lines on the Liberty Bell be present. Perhaps 5% of the incused lines are present on this coin. Incuse is where the lettering or imprints are sunken below the primary plane or field of the coin.
