Interesting debate. I, personally have a Dell, and don't know if it would work on an HP or Gateway. This one is a gamble, but the other one is not for someone With a Dell for it has yet to be installed and is sealed.

You guys do know that this is only for reinstallation and does not work as a Windows Vista install disk. If you're looking for a free copy of windows vista check out the pirate bay (http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4418157/Windows_Vista_Home_Premium_Pre_-_Activated_and_Bootable)

for instance you would need your toshiba laptop to have a "windows vista businessv 32 bit sp1" sticker on it with the activation could to properly activate it....if not it will only work for 30 days...

yes you can install it on any system with that has the COA sticker that has the proper system activation number on it....but as far as the drivers, this with only work on dells....this will also install without a coa number on any dell computer....desktop or laptop....

If this is the disc that came with your system the COA is either on the side of your tower or the back

I have used dell disc on gateways, emachines, 2 different HPs and 3 different dells. the key is not to register the key only activate. when you register it voids that key from anymore use

No. I did not get one with the software for my computer. Dell put a sticker on the side my computer. The only COA I have is on my Window Software....Works9...which has nothing to do with this auction.

You sure about using a DELL disk on a Gateway or HP?
I have tried this unsuccessfully. The disks I have identify the host computer prior to installation by not only manufacturer, but model.

I may get both of these because you can use these on any system which many people do not know. , it does not have to be a dell , it can be hp, emachine, gateway, or any pc based comp
