This text will help someone gain insight into the historical, philosophical, social, and legal underpinnings of each program and why alternatives to prison are important to sustain. It will help someone learn about probation, parole, electronic monitoring and house arrest to day-treatment centers, boot camps, restitution, fines, and other alternatives to incarceration. Other topics would include bail decision, pretrial release and diversion, drug courts, officer stress, private probation, supervision issues, and restorative justice (Alarid and et, 2008).

Although this text does have some ink marks but no highlighted markings, the front and back covers is bent due to handling and a few of the pages are bent. It is a used book. The corners are bent, as well. Please don't hesitate to ask questions because, I don't want you to think I'm trying to hide the condition of any of my books. I will display everything that I see and recheck before delivery to be sure. I will put a rubber-band to hold the front cover down. But, overall, the book is great.
