it is true that your ps2 games play on your ps3 but it does depend on when you bought your ps3 and what model it is any model bought after 2009 probably wont play ps2 games and most ps3 bought before 2009 should play them Google your ps3 model before bidding if your unsure

Thanks sparticusx, that was constructive help. I wasn't aware that different releases of PS3 had different levels of compatibility. Thanks for sharing that. Please bid accordingly folks. We did buy our PS3 prior to 2009, so that would make sense.

80 g -some, if it has the original software on it, yes. If the software has been updated, it won't anymore.

This is why older systems are often more expensive than a brand new one.

yeah, if I remember right, many (all?) ps1 discs didn't work, but you could download them to play

Playstation 2 games don't work on most Playstation 3 consoles. If they do, it's very rare. False advertisement.

I guess that explains why my kids have a collection of them and play them all the time on our ps3. It amazes me how many folks talk with such authority on things they don't actually understand.
