is it for a standard shift or automatic? does it screw on, or slip over and tighten with set screws? f&w

It is for a manual transmission. It won't work on my car because there is no release on my shifter. I would have to cut the old shifter knob off and weld this one on and I don't want to have to do that or go to all that trouble to possibly mess something up.

It just pops on as long as your car has a spot for a release. Mine doesn't.
