The listing, Amaryllis Seeds has ended.
This listing is for approximately 20 amaryllis seeds. Most people assume that because Amaryllis are grown from bulbs, that they don't produce seeds. That's not true. They DO produce seeds!! After the blooms die and fall away, they produce seeds pods at the base of the stem where the flowers were. I harvest these once they crack open and dry them in a sunny place. Then I store them in rice grains to keep them from molding or mildewing. I grow Amaryllis from seed every year. It will take an amaryllis grown from seed a couple of years to mature enough to produce blooms. The plants shown in the first picture were indeed grown from seeds! You may receive any of the varieties shown, or even a mixture of them! To start your seeds, sow them in a seed starting tray with a clear cover. Once they are an inch tall, uncover them. Once they are over 3 inches tall, you can pot or plant them however you like. I suggest watering these babies with a misting bottle, as its easy to drown any seedling. They will usually produce one large stem that has between four and six flowers atop them. The blooms last for approximately two weeks. There's nothing prettier than an Amaryllis in full bloom!
