Hi! Yes it would fit a D cup. It would clearly be a bit sexier! Not Kate Upton over the top too small, but not as much coverage a C would get. And it does have light removable padding. You could buy others if you prefer thicker. To be sure on the size I've included some measurements.....
From outer triangle to other side it's 13.5"
Each cup is 7" across and 7" tall
Bottom is also 13.5" across
And 9.5" tall
From back tie to back tie (untied) it's 45"
All measurement without stretching
