Description

The listing, 1913 TYPE 1 Buffalo Nickel *FREE SHIPPING* has ended.

1913 TYPE 1 Buffalo Nickel. Unfortunately the date has been worn off to the extent that it is NOT visible, at all. The only reason I know it's a 1913 TYPE 1 Buffalo Nickel is because of the dip from the mound on the bottom left, as well as the 3 extra strands of grass in front of the front right hoof. (Also because of "KenB59" noticing it and bringing it to my attention. Special thanks to you KenB59! Thank you kindly sir!). Anyway, I'm sure even without the date on it, someone will want it.

Well, happy bidding everyone. I hope you like it.
Best of luck! :D

It's a 1913 Type 1. You can tell by the mound the buffalo is standing on, later the same year the design was changed, thus the 1913 type 2, Buffalo on the plane.

actually he is standing on the plane when I look at it. I see how in the picture it looks like a mound but honestly it's just VERY worn. It is supposed to say "FIVE CENTS" under his feet. So I am fairly sure that is a bit closer to the years of my other nickels that I have. Although the 2 I have for listing purposes are quite worn. I believe the 2 I am listing are right around 1920-1935 or somewhere around there. I also have a 1929 and another one that you can read the date but just barely. It's either a 1926 or 1928. I can't tell which as it's is almost too worn to tell the date at all. You have to look VERY closely to see it.

It is most definitely a 1913 type 1. buffalo on the mound. Compare it to your other buffaloes and you should be able to see the difference quite clearly.

yep, it looks just like the 1929 (besides much more wear) I will have to do some research online to see what difference you are talking about. because looking at this specific one and my 1929 the only thing I can see is 2 VERY tiny pieces of grass on 1 that isn't on the other. (almost touching its front right hoof) Anyway, like I said, I want to do some research so I can see a better condition of the coin so that I can better compare the 2 dates. :) Thanks so much for all this info though. I really do appreciate it.

Wow, well you are right. (I'm sure you knew you were ;P) I wasn't doubting you though of course. I just couldn't see the difference. and actually I took a tiny bit of rubbing alcohol on a q-tip and cleaned by the feet... if it wasn't for the extra pieces of grass, I would've still stuck to my guns and said it was the same as my others. LoL. I would've just blamed the barely noticeable dip from the mound on wear and tear. I am truly grateful, and thankful for you pointing out the difference though. I'm obviously just a novice beginner when it comes being a coin collector. Don't get me wrong I have coins from literally ALL OVER the world. I've just never done a single lick of research on anything. LoL. (Most likely fairly common for someone my age just doing it as a hobby and not a profession I would assume)
Again. Thank you so so much. I've learned something new :D
