A stamp showing a U-Boat commander at a periscope apparently sighting in on an allied ship. This is one of a series of stamps honoring the German military and war effort late in 1944 and early 1945. By the time this stamp was issued, the U-boat (submarine) effort was no longer a major threat to the allies.
