Description

The listing, Canon AE-1 Program Professional SLR Film Camera Plus 3 Lenses has ended.

The Canon AE-1 is one of the most successful SLR cameras ever. Over 5 million units sold at approximately $1,100 each. It’s currently selling on Amazon from $169 to over $300 WITHOUT the extras that this offering includes. Further, this is the upgraded Canon AE-1 Program.

35mm focal-plane shutter SLR camera

Uses FD lenses

Four-axis horizontal-travel focal-plane shutter with cloth curtains. B, 2, 1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/15, 1/30, 1/60, 1/125, 1/250, 1/500, 1/1000 sec.

All speeds controlled electronically.

Built-in self-timer.

Viewfinder: Fixed eye-level pentaprism. 0.83x magnification and 94% coverage. Micro-prism rangefinder-encircled new split prism rangefinder with double diffraction prism at the center of Laser Matte screen. Eight focusing screens interchangeable through the mirror box.

This auction also includes 3 lenses: 28-80mm, 80-200mm, and 50mm.

Included Accessories:

Manuals for camera and lenses
Tiffen 55mm Sky 1-A UV and protective filter
Forward & rear caps for all lenses plus body
Kodak lens cleaner solution
Several packs of lens cleaner paper

IMPORTANT NOTE: Camera was stored in a camera bag, whose lining deteriorated. Though to this layman's eye everything seems functional, you will want to have it cleaned professionally.

US shipping will be $10, including insurance for $200.

Note: Shipping fees, when applicable, help defer the costs of postage, delivery confirmation, packaging, and in some cases, insurance. My goal is to treat everyone fairly; therefore I do not attempt to make money off shipping. To show appreciation, I send nationally accepted coupons exceeding shipping fees, either in the package or by email, to auction winners.

I have always found 35MM cameras so much better then the digital ones...I loved being able to take photos, send them out and have them all in hand to put into an album. Less hassle for me. Great..Excellent camera. :)

wow, great camera. Have you used this camera before? and when was the last time it was used.

I won this camera in a local (physical) auction a few weeks ago. I have not taken any pictures with it. I do not know when it was last used.

That being said, I believe this camera has a LOT of value. It is a more complete package than I've seen on eBay or Amazon. I am certain it could be sold with the lenses for $250 to $350. Nothing is missing, chipped, scratched, or torn. It has all the doors/hinges, etc. All the buttons actuate as they should. Nothing is binding, and I don't see any corrosion anywhere. The lenses also seem to be in good shape.

Despite all of that, it is possible that I have missed something. I am not an expert with this camera.

The winning bidder can choose either the $50 gift certificate, OR (not both) the camera system.

The winner get to pick either a $50 gift card, or the camera system.

The gift card can be whatever the winner wants as long as I can drive to get it in about 20 miles, or purchase it online.

Walmart, Target, K-Mart, Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, Sports Authority, fast food places, sit down restaurants, whatever...

I'll even break up the $50 and get several different types of cards, if that's what the winner wants.

are there any dust specks or markings in the lens? what about in the camera lens or eye hole?

Honestly, I don't see any interior flaws anywhere, BUT I'm no expert. Logically, it should be cleaned since it came out of a camera bag, where the lining had deteriorated. There is some residue on the outside. I could have wiped that off, but I figure that should be left up to the winner to decide how/what/if that should be done.

Here's what I'll do: If the winner chooses to receive the camera rather than the $50 gift certificate, and feels that it was somehow misrepresented in this auction, they can send it back to me, and I'll refund their credits. This offer will be good for 7 days from the time of delivery. (I'll be sending it with delivery confirmation, so this will be easy to determine)

Thanks for checking out the auction.

The serial number for this camera is 1688873. Based on that, and the facts that 1. Canon began selling this model in April of '81, and 2. It uses FD lenses that were made until '94, my best guess is that it is an '88 model.

Thank you for checking out my auction! After cleaning, this would be an outstanding asset for your photography class. A lot of semi-pro & pro photographers all over the world built their careers with this film camera.

Yes, speed is controllable...highly adaptable system :)
