Description
The listing, Beautiful Grape Motif Teapot has ended.
Vintage teapot with Grape motif. Inscribed with a cursive “S” on the front. Note the dark patch next to it. It is a dent that doesn't compromise the piece. Tarnished..see all photos for description. On the bottom are 1951, then below it a 7.. The inside is tarnished but no leaks or cracks.. I’ve left this piece just the way it has been, from sitting in the China Cabinet.
Questions & Comments
Hi Julie I knew you would love this. I would say silver-plate. I have always used tooth paste and baking soda to clean my silver. I had some silverware that was my grandmother that was tarnished much worse than this due to family members who left it in a leaking storage shed. I brought it bake to life. I know you will cherish this piece, it has so much history in just the making of it not to mention being passed down for generations. Reed and Barton are truly great no matter what pieces you get. Nancy I am going to end the bidding war and let Julie take over. She is truly a sweet angel and I am grateful for her friendship. ♡♡♡♡
Carol, All of you Ladies are beyond belief..all the love and kindness is shining though clearly!! I'm so blessed to be among you!! Love you all! Blessings, Joy & Happiness to all! Hugs!!!
Well, not to rain on anyone's parade here, but I'm just going to HAVE to chime in on THIS one, Nancy! Our family name is Spinks, so this would fit right in with my own silver and cut glass and crystal collections! This is a GORGEOUS piece and I would dearly love to be the lucky winner, just as everyone else here would. Thank you for your amazing generosity, Nancy! I have been a huge fan of yours for a very long time and always love your auctions so much, especially when luck shines on me at the end, as it has a few times. I guess all of us here who are hoping to win this auction will just have to buckle our seatbelts and get ready! I'm afraid it's going to be a bumpy ride for all!!! Best wishes and good luck to everyone! Blessings to you, Nancy! You're the BEST!!!!!
Thank you so much Bobbie! Oh sweetie I think it would look awesome in your home..Especially with the "S" engraved on it..heh heh..The Muse has moved me a few times to polish this up but at the last minute ..I came to my senses and opted out of cleaning..ROFL!! Love your comments! Massive Blessings my wonderful friend..
Hi This is beautiful. I did some research and found this piece is from 1859-1860 circa. I also found this info for anyone else who would like to know about who made it and the numbering system and maker. Nancy I love this piece and it should draw and extraordinary amount of credits. I will definitely be watching and hoping to add to my china cabinet. http://www.smpub.com/ubb/Forum21/HTML/001367.html
Carol what a font of awesome information! Thank you so very much. This is one item in our family, that has been passed down for many generations. I think all of us just stuck it into the China Cabinets...Your so awesome! Blessings & Joy always Carol!!

It is Beautiful Nancy! Already a FAN of yours & I don't want to start a bidding war with my friend Carolyn .....she's so awesome and so is your Generous Auction! Thank you so much for sharing it here with us, a treasured heirloom piece! I will be watching and if the credits seem too low I may just have to jump in and try for it...heehee, Carolyn if you read this I have a question for you honey: I read a lot on the cool link you posted and was curious if you think this piece is pewter, silver-plate or as they were calling it "hollow-ware" but still Sterling Silver (I read the great info. thank you for that, but am still confused, go figure, lol) thank you for any more info. on the material it is made from...curious if it could be polished to the high shine as seen in some of those pics on your link!....I love Reed and Barton regardless... God bless you Nancy and Carolyn and everyone who is bidding and watching...whomever wins will be one lucky Listian!!!
Julie, your comments are fantastic and so loving! I simply have too much stuff from my relatives that I ended up with. I so dislike dusting, etc..lol. I'd rather be outside riding my horse..snickering..This piece is heavy..and I do know when my Grandmother had it it sparkled..Thank you so much my wonderful friend! Blessings & Joy always to you~~~~
I have a feeling we will have a huge bidding war on this one! My kitchen, dining and bar is all in the grape and wine decor soooo I too love this tea pot. Guess I'm setting my alarm for this auction.
