Questions & Comments
I don't have many credits and I know your sure to do very well on these but I am hoping your continue making these so that when I do have enough credits I can hopefully win some of these!! Have you ever tried to use sheet music or fabric to make these?? I bet Christmas wrapping paper made into beads would look really nice!!
You did a great job with these, I have tried to make them and they never come out looking like these!!!! kudos to you!!!! you have made beautiful beads!!!! Linda!!
I'm thinking about switching up my listings with some new strategies after the holidays, which will probably be very slow for a while. However, what I've found is that simple is usually best. Tiers (which I use constantly) are pretty simple but still confuse a lot of bidders, particularly if they are new and don't read even the first sentence or paragraph of my listings (very common on LIstia ... people look at the photo and bid, often they don't even read the title).
I've tried "choice" listings with very limited success ... Even though it's a simple concept, it's just too complicated. People spend maybe a few seconds looking over a listing ... they want to bid and move on and feel confident about what they might win.
One of the best ways to learn on Listia (or any online selling) is to watch what the most successful sellers do and emulate or even copy some of their strategies. Each of us has our own style and strategies, but marketing and selling is a trial-and-error project. Your photos, description, pricing, etc. are crucial to success. I adjust my pricing constantly depending on what's going on with Listia. During slower times, I reduce my prices but it's okay, because I can still spend my credits on what I want because the things I'm bidding on are also cheaper (usually).
So, both buying and selling on Listia require some thought and strategy. I think that is what makes Listia fun and challenging!
This must be a LOT of work! Nice listing! In the future, you might want to put your beads in the "beading" subcategory. I think a lot of people browse that subcategory. It won't hurt anyway. Just don't use any sort of "custom" subcategory. I don't think that works well for beads and jewelry ... the "normal" subcategories get a lot more people looking at them, I think. Good luck!
