At one point I set it back to out of the box settings. Which put the os back to factory. I decided to upgrade the os to windows 10. After that it really had minimal use. Mostly for music and movies. I have removed all programs and personal stuff that I added since then.
The reason your computer kind of screwed up a bit after upgrading to Windows 10 is because it's gonna need more Ram. I had this problem with another Laptop I gave away. I had to buy new ram sticks to get it to work good. So let everyone know before you bid. CRUCIAL IS YOUR FRIEND. Could be needs new ssd, hard drive. HAPPY Bidding!
It works pretty good and I did upgrade the ram. It could probably use more. I just didn't use it much cause I have a desktop. Yes crucial is a very good brand and a nice website to see what your current pc is using and what it can go up to.
Fanned & Watching...Forgive my ignorance but I know very little about Laptops. I'm looking for one that I can use with WiFi and check email while I'm going cross country. Would this one do that or do I have to add programs to it? Thanks!
Thanks for the F/W i will fan you back. Yes you can get Wi-Fi on this laptop however you need to have a Wi-Fi source. IE a mobile hotspot or a some sort of access to internet. I hope that makes sense.
For those asking about the RAM and you talking about issues after instal of Windows 10. This model is expandable up to a max of 8GB of RAM. That would help performance quite a lot. Most likely you have 2 2GB in now. So it will need 2 new 4GB SDRAM sticks. Win 10 chokes on 2-4GB of RAM. Since this was designed for Windows 7, a 2011 model, it needs a more to get any performance out of 10. Rolling it back with added RAM is an even better option. This laptop with its max 8GB of RAM and Win 7 would preform great, and 7 is so much better than the nightmare that is Windows 8. I've been in computers for over 35 years. This is actually a good reliable model. Great for student/home office lvl use. Not a gaming system but great for general work. Also, It uses SO-DIMM 204-pin 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM.
I never had a problem with it. I was going to sell it to a friend, so i put it back to out of the box settings. She decided to just buy a new one, and windows 10 came out. So i updated it. Yes it could use more RAM but for what little i did use it for it worked fine. I just figured i would post it. I would rather it go to someone who could use it than sit and go to waste.
Awesome auction here! If you could put a guess on how much this will go for, what would you say? So I can know approximately how many points to purchase? Thanks.
Thanks! To be honest I don't have a clue. My best advice is watch the auction and see how it progresses, then get what you can. Listia does have a guarantee when you buy credits. If you buy credits to win an auction and still lose you can get your money back. They may have changed that so might wanna look that up . Good luck!
